This is a powerful wonderfully written easy to understand book that clearly reveals God's Plan for All. It's an eye opening book that explains the True Gospel of Jesus Christ and the TRUTH about WHO The ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD really is. It reveals the truth of the BIBLE without adding or taking away from the INSPIRED WORD OF GOD and reveals the many FALSE DOCTRINES being taught by MAINSTREAM CHRISTIANITY today. Good book to learn theory of C6 Lap Steel

If you want to learn lap steel and learn the music theory to understand what you are doing, this is your book. If you want some quick licks, this is not it. I gave if 4 stars because the Kindle format is not ideal for reading music. I recommend that you buy the ebook and DVDs directly at www.joedocmusic.com. The ebook is provided as a pdf file which allows you to change screen format as you wish and to print sections. The DVDs also provide visual lessons to go along with the book.

Absolute Gem

This book is an absolute gem that packs a wealth of information into 140 pages. If you are a guitar player with a music theory background or not, you'll love Joe's explanation of lead voicing as it relates to going up and down the neck of the lap steel. This book is not geared toward learning licks. Instead, it gives you the knowledge and understanding of how "licks" are made. I was drawn to C6 lap steel tuning, as I loved the layout of the chord inversions. I studied the neck on my own, and watch tons of online videos. Before buying this book, I was unable to link my music theory background to the lap steel. Joe's book gives a lot of detail into how to link these inversions together using lead voicing and parallel motion. I spent the afternoon with this book, and I am already playing way better. If you are completely new to lap steel or guitar player coming to lap steel, this book is definitely worth the investment.

This book is the best music instruction book I have read (guitar, bass, mandolin, slide, lap steel).
I really appreciate Joe's explanation of music theory. Although I've played guitar for over fifty years, music theory always intimidated me. Joe made it easy enough for this GOP (Grizzled Old Picker) to understand!
Techniques covered in detail, Tabs, Charts, MP4 file examples. It's all there. Simply Excellent!

About the Author

Dr. Jag Mohan Humar, is currently Distinguished Research Professor of Civil Engineering at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Humar obtained his Ph.D. from Carleton University in 1974. He joined Carleton as a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering in 1975 and became a full professor in 1983, and served as the Chairman of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from 1989 to 2000.

Dr. Humar’s main research interest is in structural dynamics and earthquake engineering. He has published over 120 journal and conference papers in this and related areas. He is also the author of a book entitled "Dynamics of Structures," published by Prentice Hall, USA in 1990. The second edition of the book has been published by Balkema Publishers of Netherlands in 2002. In February 2000 Dr. Humar led a Canadian Scientific mission to Gujarat to study the damage caused by the Bhuj earthquake.

Dr. Humar is actively involved in the development of seismic design provisions of the National Building Code of Canada. Over the last 15 years he has served as a member of the Standing Committee on Earthquake Design, an advisory body to National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) for its seismic design provisions. During these years the NBCC seismic provisions have undergone substantial revisions, and many of the changes and new requirements have been influenced by Dr. Humar’s work in the field.

Along with teaching, academic administration, and research, Dr. Humar has also been active in engineering consulting He served as a special consultant for several outstanding civil engineering projects, including the National Aviation Museum in Ottawa and the SkyDome in Toronto. He was a seismic design consultant on several other projects, which include the Earthquake Response Study of the Alexandria Bridge across the Ottawa River, Seismic Rehabilitation of the Victoria Museum, Ottawa, Blast Load Analysis of the Mackenzie Tower, Parliamentary Precinct, Ottawa. He also served as a member and chair of the experts panel to review the seismic rehabilitation and upgrade of the West Block, Parliamentary Precinct, Ottawa.

Dr. Humar has received several awards for his outstanding contributions to teaching, research, engineering practice, and the profession.

Dr. Humar serves as a field referee for many international journals including the ASCE Journals of Structures and Engineering Mechanics, the Journal of Sound and Vibration, the Journal of Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, and the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering. For 7 years he served as an Associate Editor for the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering. Currently he is the Associate Editor of the International Journal of Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics.

The delivery service is bad!

I give 4 stars to the content of the book. This book is very good and worth buying. I reduce 1 star because I am so disappointed about the delivery service! I spent a fortune on the new book because I really love this book. I expect a book in good condition. However, several notable scraches were made and the corners of the cover were damaged during the delivery! This is not acceptable!

Dohla served from 1777 to 1783 as a private in the Hessian mercenary forces hired by the British to help suppress the revolt in the American colonies. The campaigns of the Ansbach-Bayreuth contingent to which he belonged saw action in New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Virginia. In a simple, direct manner, Dohla's diary records garrison life, marches and infrequent brushes with "the rebels." The author participated in the climactic Yorktown campaign in the autumn of 1781, witnessed the formal surrender of British General Cornwallis, then spent a year and a half as a prisoner of war. The diary will interest Revolutionary War scholars--but lay readers will find this impersonal opus, edited by historian Burgoyne, dry. Though sensitive to the beauty of American towns and villages, Dohla was uninterested in character (revealing names and ranks only), and his rare interpretive comments are unsupported by example. Excellent resource of info on the "hessian" troops!

This diary makes clear the miscoceptions and wrong ideas
about the hessian troops, the most significant that they were not
mercenaries, and they did not want to be in british service in the first place.The author gives excellent discriptions of events, and writes in such a way that the reader gets a very good picture of his personal life and character. He and his unit missed most important combat action, but the few they participated in, like the siege of yorktown, are described in immense detail. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who is interested in the daily life, opinions, and observations of a revolutionary war soldier.

I didn't find anything wrong with this book, however calling it "A complete guide" would be quite a stretch. It did have some useful information though.

Good guide for beginners!

Neuroplasticity is a interesting topic and there is so much to learn about the human brain. This book is a good introduction to it. I came across some helpful information, it explained and showed how the brain is always regenerating. I wish there was some more information since I've read few books on this topic already. This is a good guide for beginners!
