Pearls of wisdom from a real leader

The latest book from Steve Murrell, - [...] - founding pastor of Victory Churches in the Philippines and president of Every Nation Churches worldwide. The book begins with a story from Pastor Steve's youth, where he recalls his high school relay team coming in first place only to be disqualified because they forgot the baton. Based on the premise that it doesn't matter how well we do if we forget to pass the baton he goes on to explain the importance of passing the "baton" of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the next generation. The stories in this book are based on Steve's personal experience as a cross-cultural missionary and church planter as well as his current role as leader of an international movement of churches.

100 Years From Now: Sustaining a Movement for Generations is definitely a manifesto for the Every Nation movement in particular, but it is much more. If I live 100 years from now, who have I become in my son and his children and his children's children's eyes? Am I a part to sustain the movement for generations? Amazing collection, but nothing new

This is a collection of every comic and comic-like-thing that Valve produced up through around August. For Left 4 Dead, it contains The Sacrifice (duh?). For Team Fortress 2, it has everything through the comic for the replay update. For Portal 2, it has the entire Lab Rat comic. In addition to all of the above, there are few pieces of artwork, mainly postcards and various other random things (such as some of the Saxton Hale magazine covers). All of this is collected in a full-color, hardback collection that's a lot bigger than I thought it would be (it's kinda hard to understand just how massive the book is from the dimensions that are given).

So yeah, it contains a lot of good stuff. However, it lacks anything new. I expected this, but didn't quite plan for it. Everything in this book is available for free online. When the package arrived, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I immediately ripped it open and flipped through it. Then... nothing. As soon as it dawned on me that I'd already extracted just about all of the entertainment I could get from this book several months earlier, there really wasn't anything left I could enjoy. Plus, half of this book (The Sacrifice comic) was designed for a digital widescreen display. Each digital "page" is printed two per physical page, so there are plenty of gaps. That kind of kills the traditional comic book feel and gives the impression that it works a lot better on screen than on paper. Even if I were to reread this in the book, I'd still feel like it would be been better to read it online, which is free.

Don't get me wrong. These are all ridiculously entertaining comics. I got plenty of enjoyment out of 'em when I read them through at release online. But, the only thing I gained from purchasing this book was having them in paper instead of digitally. At the end of the day, this is nothing more than a collector's item.

Excellent gift for your homes TF2 fan

My son was delighted to receive this as a gift. The quality of this comic collection is impressive (print and paper quality, page sizes, hardcover). It was kind of interesting to learn that there's actually some sort of story behind the video game Team Fortress 2.

For fans of the game, this is a must have. Amazing art and quality cover. This hard bound book is really something for the collector of TF2 souveniers. I cannot speak to the quality of the writing within, because I have not read it myself, it was a gift for my son. He really liked it. Great gift.

This book is terrible dont buy it!

On a consumer level here is how i felt:

I bought this book and found it to be the only time in my life i ever felt ripped off buying a book. What bud considers a book is really 20 chapters that are word for word copies of the first chapter with one calculation changed.
Bud could have written this "book" as a blog post and printed the results of his 30 "analyses" as a one page description.

On and intellectual, academic, and value investor level...
Nothing is worse than a mediocre writer wasting everyone's time publishing a book. Bud does not even rise to this level. His analysis is simplistic formulaic and can be found on several websites for free and done for every company on the NYSE. Successful value investors spend time finding value that others overlook and how to realize that value. Bud insults us all with such a weak effort.

This book is a hustle and the author is embarrassing... hes a doctor and he published this crap, does he know people will find out this garbage is his???

OMG! Such a sorry book.

I am amazed at how easily people can get away with writing such books. Avoid this book at all costs. All it has is the author's overly simple interpretations of companies' intrinsic values, arrived at in a mechanical way, followed by a dull assessment of its competitive advantages and such. I feel dumber after having spent time on this book.
